چکیده

We study the scattering phase shift of the Kondo assisted transmission through a quantum dot (QD), considering a model that includes an additional non resonant channel transmission. To compute the phase evolution and the transmission amplitude of the QD, for different temperatures, we describe the QD employing the single Anderson impurity model in the limit of infinity Coulomb repulsion, within the X-boson approach. Our results are consistent with the development of an unusually large phase evolution at around π in the Kondo valley, observed in recent experiments, and is consistent with others theoretical treatments.

0 Phase Evolution in a Kondo correlated system

The coherence and phase evolution of electrons in a mesoscopic system in the Kondo correlated regime were studied. The Kondo effect, in turn, is one of the most fundamental many-body effects where a localized spin interacts with conduction electrons in a conductor. Results were obtained by embedding a quantum dot (QD) in a double path electronic interferometer and measuring interference of elec...

Quantum phases and fluctuations in correlated electron systems with frustration and competing interactions are reviewed. In the localized moment case the S=1/2 J1 - J2 - model on a square lattice exhibits a rich phase diagram with magnetic as well as exotic hidden order phases due to the interplay of frustration and quantum fluctuations. Their signature in magnetocaloric quantities and the hig...

Transmission phase of a quantum dot with Kondo correlation near the unitary limit.

The complex transmission amplitude of a quantum dot (QD) with Kondo correlation was measured near the unitary limit. The transmission phase was observed to evolve almost linearly over a range of about 1.5 pi when the Fermi energy was scanned through a spin degenerate energy level of the QD. Surprisingly, the phase in the Coulomb Blockade regime, with one more electron entering the dot, was stro...

Novel Phase-frequency Detector based on Quantum-dot Cellular Automata Nanotechnology

The electronic industry has grown vastly in recent years, and researchers are trying to minimize circuits delay, occupied area and power consumption as much as possible. In this regard, many technologies have been introduced. Quantum Cellular Automata (QCA) is one of the schemes to design nano-scale digital electronic circuits. This technology has high speed and low power consumption, and occup...

Transmission in double quantum dots in the Kondo regime: Quantum-critical transitions and interference effects

We study the transmission through a double quantum-dot system in the Kondo regime. An exact expression for the transmission coefficient in terms of fully interacting many-body Green’s functions is obtained. By mapping the system into an effective Anderson impurity model, one can determine the transmission using numerical renormalization-group methods. The transmission exhibits signatures of the...
